UCLA classes with no prerequisites

1,619 lower-division courses in the 2026–27 General Catalog list no requisite at all — the places you can start without having taken anything else first, across 180 departments.

“No prerequisite” here means UCLA published none, not that BruinTree failed to read one: a course whose requisite wording defeated the parser stays off this list rather than being offered as an open door. It is not a promise you can enroll — departments still limit seats, and some courses ask for an instructor’s consent that the catalog does not print as a requisite.
