Elementary Japanese: Intensive

Not open to students who have learned, from whatever source, enough Japanese to qualify for more advanced courses. Intensive course equivalent to courses 1, 2, and 3. Introduction to fundamentals of standard Japanese, including pronunciation, grammar, and Japanese characters, with emphasis on all four basic language skills—speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing. Offered in summer only.
