Hands-on foundation combining aspects of hand making, sculpture, engineering, woodworking, traditional crafts, three-dimensional (3D) modeling and digital fabrication, and other practices. Offers a survey of many different ways of making, while analyzing the aesthetic, political, and environmental meanings of materials and how they are used to create 3D objects. Students produce their own relationship to materials and fabrication while forming a personal aesthetic language.
