Engineering · 2 units · Undergraduate lower division (0-99)
Designed for incoming engineering transfer students. Study of engineering design tools for prototyping through basic training workshops that include concepts in coding, circuits, computer aided design, and fabrication. Students utilize these skills to work in teams and complete a final technical project that involves designing, fabricating, and preparing a prototype for a performance test in a real-world situation. Teams are required to submit an oral design-review presentation on their experience. Students learn about the engineering design process and develop an engineering mindset. No prior experience or coursework is necessary.
