Introduction to Media Production

Limited to Film and Television majors. Students gain an understanding of the tools, techniques, strategies, processes, power structures, logistics, and financial implications that allow a media-maker to practice their craft in creation of content which can take numerous forms—fiction, nonfiction, alternative, advertising, web-based, among others. Overview of how an idea becomes real and tangible in visual-based media production. Through lectures, readings, writing, online interactions, and creating, students contemplate, articulate, and delve into various stages of media production.
