Hidden Curriculum in the University Context

Seminar provides newly admitted VIP Scholars with practical tools and strategies to succeed at UCLA. Students engage in critical discussion about what it means to be a student of color at UCLA and how to use the hidden curriculum to navigate specific challenges one may face on campus. Discussions incorporate research and theory to contextualize underrepresented students’ retention at historically White institutions. Students build community and are exposed to several UCLA resources.
