Introduction to Global Musicianship
Ethnomusicology · 2 units · Undergraduate lower division (0-99)
(Same as Music M6A and Musicology M6A.) Course M6A is enforced requisite to M6B, which is enforced requisite to M6C. Students must receive grade of C– or better to proceed to next course in sequence. Introduction to global musicianship through in-depth exploration of basic musical elements through performance, aural skills, and active listening. Engages with melodic information represented in solfège, harmonic information in Nashville number system, and rhythmic information in both Western notation and digital audio workstation grid visualization.
