Biological Clock
Honors Collegium · 5 units · Undergraduate lower division (0-99)
Designed for College Honors students, but open to all majors. Rotation of Earth imposed diurnal oscillations of physical changes on all living organisms on Earth. Protein complexes, called circadian or biological clock, allow organisms to anticipate and adapt to daily environmental changes, and knowledge of it comes from molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, and genomics. Study of these processes and interdisciplinary methodologies to understand how biological clock works and how it affects health and well-being.
