CHIN 8Elementary Chinese: Intensive

Not open to students who have learned, from whatever source, enough Chinese to qualify for more advanced courses. Intensive course equivalent to courses 1, 2, and 3. Introduction to fundamentals of standard Chinese, including pronunciation, grammar, and Chinese characters, with emphasis on all four basic language skills—speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing. Offered in summer only.
