Limited to Global Jazz Studies majors. One-on-one composition lessons with assignments and compositions tailored to student progress and level of achievement. Lessons address various, cross-cultural concepts in harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic construction, orchestration, analyses of global jazz masterworks, form, texture, style, notation, ornamentation, improvisation, and performance feasibility. May be repeated for credit.
