Making Fiction Work: Imagining Philippines and its Elsewheres

Philippines and Filipino global diaspora as launching off point for interdisciplinary study of cultural diversity, national identity formation, global migration, labor, rise of Asia, and borderlands. Critical study of difference, not as identitarian, celebratory approach of sameness; rather focus on shared struggles between minoritized groups in U.S. and shared histories of U.S. territorial possessions. May not be repeated for credit.
