Not open for credit to students with credit for course 30. Multidisciplinary introduction to Asian American literature and cultural production. Exploration of cultural politics and creative expression of Asia Pacific Americans in their own terms and in context of emergence and reception of artistic works—from personal, local, regional, national, and to global/imperial. Implicit and explicit comparison of Asian American cultural production to diverse experiences of other aggregated groupings, historic and emergent. Addresses intersectional issues of gendering, sexuality, non-secularity, and socioeconomic conditions. Satisfies Writing II requirement.
