Mathematics and Pedagogy for Teaching Secondary School Mathematics
Mathematics · 4 units · Undergraduate upper division (100-199)
Highly recommended: course 73XP. Facilitates student development of the domains of mathematical knowledge for teaching high school mathematics including common, specialized, and horizon content knowledge as well as relationships between this knowledge and students, teaching, and curriculum. Focus on definition, properties, applications, and modeling with polynomial, rational functions, exponential, and logarithmic functions, including solutions of equations arising in modeling and mathematical contexts. Algebraic structure of the reals and complexes, and polynomial and rational expressions.
