Introduction to Yiddish language and culture, with focus on classic Yiddish films and documentaries as integral tools for accessing culture associated with this heritage language. Viewing and discussion to gain deeper understanding and appreciation of complexity and scope of Yiddish culture and in particular of annihilated Yiddish civilization of 20th century. These films represent most accessible way available to hear Yiddish spoken in fluent, natural manner.
