Exploration of diverse theoretical foundations of performance studies such as critical race theory, environmental humanities, ecolinguistics, planetary studies, Indigenous epistemologies, and digital humanities. Topics may include postcolonial and decolonial studies, feminist and queer theory, ecocriticism, affect studies, and media theory. Emphasis on how theoretical paradigms shape research design, creative practices, and sociopolitical movements. Students master theory in relation to methodology, performance events, and cultural phenomena.
