Required for students in playwriting sequence. How to approach diverse range of new plays currently changing landscape of theater. Contemporary look at plays written in last 15 years and how they reflect society. Reading of plays to build skills of manuscript analysis; development of working vocabulary of dramaturgical concepts; exploration of different styles of acting, directing, and design that playwrights of today draw from.
