Environmental Statistics

Focus on practical understanding and application of statistical tools for environmental datasets. Topics include brief overview of concepts in probability, distributions, and hypothesis testing; developing and assessing regression models; multidimensional data exploration; time series analysis; and spatial modeling. Relevant examples in the scientific literature are drawn upon, and analyses of real-world datasets are performed. Small groups complete and present a project analyzing a relevant dataset of choice.
