Taught in Spanish. Intermediate study of Spanish language and culture designed to increase communicative ability. Acquisition of cultural competence and introduction to study of literature. Comprehension of conversations and stretches of connected discourse; reading of texts with minimum use of dictionary; writing with increased grammatical accuracy and control of sentence structure, coherence, and text organization; talking about past, present, and future events; and expression of preferences, feelings, beliefs, and opinions.
