Introduction to comparative and historical sociology of race and ethnicity to demonstrate merits of double comparative approach to race, one that strives to be as comparative at level of theory (attending to relationship between race and other forms of social classification, including ethnicity and nationality) as it does at level of research.
Exploration of cases from wide variety of countries, including Australia, Brazil, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico, modern China, modern Japan, Nazi Germany, Nicaragua, Rwanda, South Africa, Sudan, and U.S. S/U or letter grading.
