Analysis of predominant structures of Scandinavian novel from its 18th-century beginnings through its rise in 19th century and its 20th-century evolution. Discussion of application of contemporary critical theories to novels. May be concurrently scheduled with course C141A. Graduate students may meet as group one additional hour each week and write research papers of greater length and depth.
