Topics selected from early Russian cinema (1908 to 1918); Soviet avant-garde (1918 to 1929); cinema under Stalin (1930s to 1950s); Soviet art house (1960s to 1970s); late and post-Soviet film (1980s to 1990s); Russian cinema after 2000; Soviet women’s cinema; and Russian and East European cinemas. May be repeated for credit with topic change. Concurrently scheduled with course C131.
