Focus on institutions and leaders that make up Los Angeles region and influence its policies and quality of life. Institutions studied include political, governmental, business, economic, media, labor, citizen advocacy, educational, cultural, sports and entertainment, and philanthropic sectors; and how they combine to affect region in which we live. Consideration of how leadership and institutional structures in each of these sectors advance or constrain progress; how Los Angeles addresses issues such as transportation, real estate development, housing, homelessness, poverty, and health care, among others; and how it can better do so.
