Participatory Action Research on Youth Organizing for Racial Justice

(Same as African American Studies M129B, American Indian Studies M129, Asian American Studies M128, and Chicana/o and Central American Studies M129B.) Students are trained to conduct participatory action research on grassroots youth organizing across California. Students gain historical and theoretical background on multi-racial and inclusive organizing. Students learn how to collect and analyze data pertaining to pressing organizing issues. Study and critical analysis of youth organizing strategies. Weekly training modules on data collection and grassroots organizing strategies that prepare students for internships in grassroots youth organizing groups serving Asian American, Black, Latinx, and Native American communities.
