Physics of charged-particle and laser beams presented as a unified subject. Basic physics of charged-particle beams, covering relativistic particle motion in electromagnetic fields, transverse focusing, acceleration mechanisms, linear and circular accelerators, and advanced topics. Some fundamentals of laser physics, including gain and broadening mechanisms, linear light optics, laser resonators, and advanced topics and applications.
