PHILOS 298
Second-Year Writing Seminar
Philosophy · 2 to 4 units · Graduate courses (200-299)
Students gain knowledge and develop skills required to write a journal-length philosophy essay of publishable quality, and guide it through the publication process. Students re-write, with greater polish and with consideration to likely criticisms of journal reviewers, a seminar paper that they have already written in a previous course. That instructor serves as an expert consultant for the project. Results in a second-year paper, which serves as the capstone requirement for the master’s degree. May be repeated for credit with consent of instructor.
S/U grading.
