Examination of philosophical problems concerning concepts and methods used in social sciences. Topics may include relation between social processes and individual psychology, logic of explanation in social sciences, determinism and spontaneity in history, interpretation of cultures radically different from one’s own. Students with primary interest and advanced preparation in social sciences encouraged to enroll. May be repeated for credit with consent of instructor.
