Advanced Topics in Magnetic Resonance Imaging A
Physics and Biology in Medicine · 4 units · Graduate courses (200-299)
(Formerly numbered M229.) Exploration of fundamental and cutting-edge magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) developments that have had high impact on the field, involve novel pulse sequence design or image acquisition, and/or enable imaging of anatomy or function in a way that surpasses what is currently possible with any other modality. Covers essentials of MRI signals and pulse sequences, and their applications to biomedical imaging. Programming exercises for simulations and laboratory sessions for pulse sequence development provide hands-on experience for students to prepare for advanced MRI research.
