Medical Microbiology for Nursing Students

Limited to Nursing majors. Not open for credit to students with credit for Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics 10. Introduction to biology of microbial pathogens, their role in development of human immune response, and presentation of symptoms and disease caused by microbial infections. Includes techniques used in bacterial identification including isolation of microbes, staining, microscopic examination, aseptic technique, and microbial growth media. Emphasis on control of microbial growth including antiseptics, disinfectants, antimicrobial sensitivity testing.
