Interprofessional Collaboration for Improving Patient and Population Health

Designed to acquaint DNP students with contemporary issues in health-care professions and expose students to interprofessional collaborative practice concepts and competencies. Discussion and debating of issues related to barriers and facilitators to achieving model collaborative practice. Analysis of innovative opportunities to improve current practice. Students critically reflect on their own beliefs about interprofessional collaborative practice, and identify how these beliefs may impact collaboration and team performance. Addresses relationships between interprofessional education, practice, and health-care outcomes and processes to prepare DNP graduates to assume leadership roles on interprofessional teams focused on patient and population health.
