Introduction to grant writing, with focus on preparing application for National Student Research Award (NRSA) or similar award. Discussion of requirements of various extramural and specialty organization funding sources and identification of evaluation criteria. Emphasis on role of external funding to facilitate doctoral and postdoctoral research, research activities, and professional development.
