State-of-art, light-microscopy-based approaches in neuroscience. Background material on basic optical principles and microscope design, as well as certification in use of lasers. Technical approaches commonly used in study of nervous system, including imaging modalities such as two-photon microscopy, methods for imaging and stimulating neuronal activity, and advanced microscopy approaches such as FRET and FLIM.
