Advanced Annotation and Comparative Genomics

Participation in discovery-based research experience, working as research team to analyze microbial genomes using bioinformatics techniques involving variety of online databases. Investigation of cellular pathways and structures as means to discover novel genes and unusual variations in classical systems. Results of high-quality annotation efforts may lead to publication in peer-reviewed science journal. Part of DOE Joint Genome Institute Undergraduate Research in Microbial Genome Annotation education program. Offered in summer only.
