Introduction to use of models and modeling in decision making, with focus on important types of models, their formulation and application, and insight and information that may be gained from use of modeling. Topics include pivot tables, data tables, lookup functionality, introduction to programming behind spreadsheets, software functionality and efficiency, and more. Applications are focused on accounting and finance, with emphasis on model formulation, interpretation of solutions, and understanding of mathematical versus verbal explanation of situations. Analytical focus on asking question, mastering data, preforming analysis, and communication of story.
