Introduction of basic concepts in sociocultural linguistics, discourse analysis, and multimedia resources to analyze Korean language and culture. Study to increase understanding of variety of sociocultural variables of Korean language. Exploration of interrelationship among language, culture, and society by examining Korean popular media (e.g., film/television drama, talk shows, music videos, digital discourse, advertisement, etc.).
