Political Economy of Climate Change

(Same as Political Science M152.) Exploration of how governments at international, national, and regional levels are addressing—or not addressing—extraordinary challenge of climate change. Use of combination of readings, lectures, and discussions to better understand causes, consequences, and policies to address most important political problem of our time—not just in U.S., but in other major countries as well. Concentration on challenge of mitigating, rather than adapting to, climate change; and concentration on energy use, rather than agriculture, forestry, and land use.
