In-depth study of distinguishing perspectives of French theorists who wrote on society and its impact on individuals. Theorists include Pascal, Rousseau, Marcel Mauss, and Emile Durkheim from early modern period, contemporary thinkers such as Michel Foucault, Michel de Certeau, and Pierre Bourdieu, and two postmodern theorists, Guy Debord and Jean Baudrillard.
