Designed for juniors/seniors. Analysis of British economy, society, and polity, with focus on dynamics of both stability and change. Social, economic, political, and cultural history of Britain from Hanovarian revolution in politics to advent of mass democracy in mid-Victorian era. Themes include social change under pressure of industrialization, emergence of first British Empire, loss of America, shifts in religious and social position.
