Hollywood and Tales of Underrepresented Communities

Hollywood movies and television shows often marginalize performers from Mexican, Central American, and South American backgrounds and contain negative stereotypes of them. But due to a younger generation sharing their videos on social media, several actors and comedians from these communities have risen in prominence and are challenging the dominant cultural narrative. Examination of the comedy specials, writings, and the unique cultural identity of these artists who are redefining the way underrepresented communities are seen in the popular imagination.
