Focus on evaluation of policies, programs, and equitable delivery of health services for most vulnerable and marginalized populations. Case studies to learn about equity-focused research and evaluation concepts and methodology. Case study topics include impact of COVID-19 pandemic and response to it in relation to our students. For instance, COVID-19 has had greater impact on African American, Latin American, and indigenous communities than on white populations, and it has unmasked disparities in access to health care, education, and technology, which often reflect in student performance. Students are encouraged to examine relevance of class discussions in their own communities and in terms of their aspirations for creating better, more equitable, and healthier world.
