Designed for juniors/seniors. Introduction to the changing geography of Spanish-speaking South America—a far from homogeneous cultural region, and one with widely varying levels of wealth. The approach taken to the region is historical and contemporary, to identify the most important factors shaping South American landscapes, past and present. Study is thematic, covering such topics as agriculture, urbanization, and immigration.
