(Same as Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences M170.) Introduction to the science of the Sun, heliosphere, and near-Earth space environment. Electromagnetic and particle emissions from the Sun, sunspots and the solar cycle, solar wind, planetary magnetospheres, planetary ionospheres, and auroras. Applications to space weather prediction and impacts on satellite systems.
