Critical Thinking and Writing for Chemical Engineers

Focus on critical thinking and writing for chemical engineers. Offers broader societal context through the examination of ethical issues related to chemical engineering. Students develop skills to more effectively communicate their thoughts and their work. An engineering ethics component focuses on case study while a technical component focuses on concepts from four chemical engineering core courses. Students gain tools to think more critically and holistically about the ethical and societal dimensions of their work as chemical engineers. In-class writing and exercises are designed to help students with homework, team project, debate, and final laboratory report. Satisfies Writing II requirement.
