(Same as Chicana/o and Central American Studies M105XP.) Specialized studies in Chicana/Chicano and/or Latina/Latino literature. In-depth study of various topics related to Chicano/Latino communities in Southern California, including Chicana/Chicano visions of Los Angeles; immigration, migration, and exile; autobiography and historical change; Chicana/Chicano journalism; and labor and literature. Service learning component includes minimum of 20 hours of meaningful work with agency involved with Chicana/Chicano and/or Latina/Latino community and selected by instructor.
