Community-Engaged Interdisciplinary Academic Writing
English Composition · 5 units · Undergraduate upper division (100-199)
Not open for credit to students with credit for course 100W or 100WD. Open to lower- and upper-division students. Study integrates academic writing with real-world practice. Organized around a broad theme, study draws on multiple genres and disciplinary perspectives to develop proficiency in academic writing and rhetorical conventions across fields. Students produce original texts and arguments that critically engage difference and diversity, and address the complexities of diverse societies. Sustained community engagement—through off-campus and/or remote partnerships—supported by ongoing critical reflection is integral. Satisfies Writing II requirement.
