Teaching European Languages and Cultures in Los Angeles: Connecting with Diverse Communities
European Languages and Transcultural Studies · 5 units · Undergraduate upper division (100-199)
Students work with students and teachers in Los Angeles French-, German-, and Italian-speaking communities. Students collaborate with local language educators to address the needs of their language schools, build long-term partnerships, and enhance community well-being. Students gain practical experience in language and cultural education within the thriving language communities of Los Angeles. Use of cultural and linguistic knowledge acquired in coursework in real-world settings. Exploration of how students’ own pedagogical experiences enhance their education and contribute to the community.
