Natural History Collections in Biological Sciences
Ecology and Evolutionary Biology · 4 units · Undergraduate upper division (100-199)
Consideration of how natural history collections play vital role in research, learning, and engagement. Topics include history of museum collections; history of naming species; collection curation; collections-based research; decolonization and diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion practices; and education and outreach using museum collections. Students learn to curate collections and gain understanding of how collections are used for education, outreach, and research.
