Plants and People
Ecology and Evolutionary Biology · 4 units · Undergraduate upper division (100-199)
Exploration of the diversity of plants that have strong cultural ties, provide significant economies, and exist at the intersection of war and industry. Examination of their ecological, evolutionary, and economic histories; and study of plant morphology and plant function. Additional focus on structures, processes, and/or practices that have generated intergroup inequities or conflicts in people. Critical application of understanding of diversity concepts through research project on role of plants in experiences of marginalized individuals and people groups with war and industry.
