Learning and Development across Contexts
Education · 4 units · Graduate courses (200-299)
Students gain theoretical analysis research skills. Focus on theories of learning and development across multiple contexts. Exploration of topics from sociohistorical lens and with domain specificity (e.g., attention, emotion, identity, memory, motivation, etc.). Study considers how theory shapes and is shaped by work done in explicit and implicit ways. Consideration also of how theory connects to practices experienced by learners across contexts of learning and development. Students observe and analyze learning, critically discuss extant theories of learning and development, and ultimately link theory to their own nascent area of study.
