DGT HUM 187
Capstone Seminar in Digital Humanities
Digital Humanities · 4 units · Undergraduate upper division (100-199)
Limited to Digital Humanities majors. Exploration and refinement of career goals; and creation of public-facing portfolio based on previous projects, résumé, and cover letter to showcase interests and support career goals. All research and learning are accompanied by thorough documentation in the form of project briefs, data critiques, project write-ups, and final websites. The public-facing portfolios are the culmination of this process and evidence the ability to use both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. In addition to highlighting the diverse range of projects students have contributed to, the digital portfolio showcases proficiency in digital humanities methodologies and technologies, and communicates preparation for future career aspirations. Through capstone portfolios, students demonstrate not only mastery of technical skills but also their capacity to think critically, communicate effectively, present findings in accessible and visually compelling ways, and contribute meaningfully to the evolving job market and career landscape.
