Not open for credit to students with credit for course 1B or 4BW. Study of selected texts from Middle Ages to 17th century, with emphasis on literary analysis and expository writing. Texts may include works by authors such as Ibn 'Arabi, Cervantes, Chaucer, Ferdowsi, Molière, Marguerite de Navarre, Nezami, Shakespeare, and Ehmedê Xanî. Consult Schedule of Classes for topics to be offered in specific term. Satisfies Writing II requirement.
